Maybe a Drymeia. Most species are found at high altitude or latitude.

Thank you! 6 species of Drymeia are known from Switzerland according to the Diptera checklist.

It must be Drymeia hamata, the only central European species of the genus with a long proboscis. Found in mountains up to 2,200 meters. I saw an American species of Drymeia at 4,300 meters.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
