Hello! I caught this one today. I can’t decide between three species:
- Cheilosia frontalis
- Cheilosia aerea
- Cheilosia melanura.

Cheilosia melanura has bristles on the wing, in the place, where r2+3 and r4+5 aren’t separated. In my specimen these bristles are present as well. I don’t know anything about if frontalis and aerea have these bristles, or no. My key writes something about hairs face, but I can’t understand it really. And I don’t know how could we exclude the third species. Could you help me please? Which species is this?

I think this is C. urbana, based on the general characters, the colours of the tarsal segments (tarses of frontalis are dark). THe light basis of the tarsal claw (picture 2) excludes psilophthalma.

Thanks, but frontalis, aerea, and melanura could be surely excluded? If yes, why?

Again, frontalis has dark feet, unlike this animal. The two other we don't have up here nordth (Denmark).
