Hello,
I saw it a few days ago and again on May 03, 2023 on an oak leaf (Quercus).
In the south of France.
body: 7.5 mm long.

Tachinidae. Sarcophagidae have bare eyes.

Hello! I would say that this is a Macquartia species (maybe dispar?) but I’m not sure in this.

Thank you very much varganimrod,
This is a genus I don't know yet in my garden.
For the males I understand that the dust patterns on the abdomen help to get to the species and from the photos I can see, Macquartia dispar does seem to match.
