Hi all!

Found this nice Tachinid today outside a hut in the Bavarian Alps. Closest I can find in the gallery is Tachina lurida. Is it that one?

Approx. 12 mm

1.5.2023, Germany, Upper Bavaria, near Ruhpolding, at a hut called "Fahsteigen-Diensthütte" below mount "Saurüsselkopf", ~910 m a.s.l., coordinates 47.69505, 12.64243

Hi Rupert, very close - but I'm pretty sure it's a female Tachina ursina:
- tergite 5 with a small dusted band basally-
- marginals of tergite 4 smaller than the segment
- apicals of scutellum neither strong nor crossed...
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner
