Any ideas about this small (body around 2 mm) nematocera? From a green-house in our garden in south Sweden today. Regards Krister ebbek attached the following image: [100.51Kb] Edited by ebbek on 27-04-2023 13:48 |

Runs to Lestremia or Anaretella in Jaschhof's key. |

Many thanks John Carr! Is there any key available to this subfamily with only 8 species recorded in Sweden? Regards Krister |

In the british key to Lestremiinae (Mikes Insect Keys) it fits well to a male Lestremia cinerea with "Gonostylus with a two-pointed tooth-like structure at the tip". Krister |

I consulted The Wood Midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Lestremiinae) of Fennoscandia and Denmark, one of several publications by Mathias Jaschhof on the Lestremiinae and Porricondylinae of Fennoscandia. They are not online as far as I know. |
