The rather elongate abdomen suggests that this might be Megaselia rufipes. Check for long, thick bristles on the abdomen. The first and third photos might show these, but they're not clear enough to be sure.

If you still have it, you can send it. (I don't think it is Megaselia rufipes, by the way.)

Thank you Tony Irwin and Paul Beuk! It saddens me to say that I did not keep this specimen Frown

There seem to be some bristles on the back side of the abdomen, but it has been wet (tried to dry it) so that might be the cause of the bristles being down:

It was my first catch ever, I will make sure to keep it in the future!

----

Some remaining questions:

1. Are there any good resources for Phoridae? As I am pretty new to them.
2. @Paul Beuk, what would be the best action to preserve and/or sent something like this (for future cases)

Well, perhaps Tony is right after all. Will be difficult to ascertain now. In the future, either preserve them dried in a small vial (as long as they cannot more to freeley because then parts will breaf off) or (preferably) store them in alcohol (when no ethanol 70% is available, any strong, clear liquor of 35% + will do as well).
