Anyone able to enlighten me with regard to which family this fly belongs? Found in Cults, Aberdeen 23/09/22.

Thanks John for providing the genus, not what I expected! And thank you Paul for the species name, even more unexpected to get that!

Now if either of you [or anyone else] could possibly run your eyes over this old thread and come up with a similar result, that would be great!!
