Dear members,

Could this fly belong to the genus Melieria?
It was found on the 24 th of June in the South of Vienna in Lower Austria.

Why not Otites centralis ? Light and dark areas on wings seems very contrasted, no ?

U are right, Stephan. Subbasal crossband is well-defined in its posterior part.
However, this wing character as proposed by Bernhard Merz does not always work throughout part of Central Europe and closer to Balcans, where some wing characters are rather intermediate. Elena Kameneva insists that in Austria 80-90% probability that it is O. centralis. In most cases, genital characters are important.
