ID possible here? I find the broad black middle segment of the front leg especially striking, but could not find a match

with a specimen (ideally a male) under a microscope I would be sure...
yes, there are similar species, for example - Limonia pannonica.

L. maculipennis would be another species with similar wing and leg pattern, but it seems to be not occurring that far south-east (absent from Austria, Switzerland, Czechia...).
Comparing the wing patterns (Kolcsar et al 2017), L. pannonnica lacks a small spot distally as well as a darkened wing tip - both features I see at my specimen - so L. splendens has become even more likely for me
