Hello, a 4-5 mm fly in my bedroom today (northwest Germany). Perhaps Scenopinus glabrifrons? If there's a distance ≈ ocellus between the eyes (I cannot see for sure) it's the male S. glabrifrons else fenestralis

Hi Jürgen, for me it looks like the eyes touch, but the original photo could tell better. If they touch it's S. fenestralis - I used Mike Hackston's key of 2022 and Oldroyd (1969). I wish you all the best for 2023, too! Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
