Flower visitor on Pulmonaria officinalis on a sunny day (April 2022) in a garden in Burscheid (Bergisches Land / Germany). Pictures 1-2 and 3-6 do not necessarily show the same individual (same spot, but a time difference of 2 hours). The darkened edge of the abdomen (particularly image 5) points to Rhingia campestris, but Rhingia rostrata, on the other hand, is described as “brightly coloured”, which I think also applies. I would be grateful for your opinion.

Hello Hans Theo, additionally, the feet are mainly black: R. campestris - rostrata has red legs. (André Schulten: Fotogids Zweefvliegen)

Hello Eric,
thank you very much for the confirmation of Rhingia campestris and the additional information that blew away all doubts that still existed.
Best wishes,
Hans Theo
