Germany, Baden-Württemberg, district Karlsruhe, Karlsbad-Spielberg, 14.04.2022, on the flowers of Acer platanoides, meadow near the forest ca. 6 - 8 mm, Gerold Franke - Meligramma cingulata, male? I hope for help - thanks

Hi Gerold, I think it's a male Melangyna quadrimaculata.

Hallo Eric,
thanks for the hint. The legs are colored differently than Melangyna quadrimaculata and there is a third pair of darker spots.

Hallo Gerold, yes, I've overseen that but I thought the scutellum is too dark for Meligramma. If you put your thread in forum Syrphidae I'm sure you will soon find an expert for these.

scutellum is dark in cingulata. Smile
