Hi everyone,
is it possible to determine the species of this chrysotoxum? Picture from 16.07.21, Southwest Germany, Staufen. Size about 14 mm. I have only this picture.

Regards,

Siggi

It seems to be the female of Chrysotoxum cautum.

Yes, when antennal segment two is longer than segment one, and three is even longer, it should be cautum.
