Hello,

I photographed this fly in the Sorgenti del Fiume Vera Nature Reserve (AQ), Italy on August 21st 2021. I think it is a Muscidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Saluti Emanuele, it could be a Limnophora.

Eric, I think it is Anthomyiid, for example, Calythea (they are somewhat similar, in our Gallery there is Calythea limnophorina Stein, 1915).

Eric, 99% of your identifications are correct. A lot of my identifications are misidentifications. Please, go on help!
