Prater, Vienna, in early May. I was thinking Xanthostigma or Puncha

All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

Hi Lorin, a complicated case: it seems, that P. ratzeburgi has a great variability in the wing veins (https://en.wikipe...ratzeburgi). But here:
https://www.resea.../308201061, on page 68,
you will find a male from Austria which has in my opinion the same venation as yours.

Greetings, Eric

Hi Eric, coming back to this observation, as I have received an answer from Ulrike Aspök in the meantime: She identified it as X. xanthogramma, but did not specify the reason (I had preferred Puncha...)
Cheers, Lorin
