 Robberfly from Tessin, Switserland *new photo*

Last summer I saw various Robberflies in Switzerland, Tessin. I wonder whether this one can be IDed tot genus level (or below!). This was a rather smallish species, much smaller than Machimus and Laphria also flying there, especially more slender. I'm not sure the male and female are the same species. Habitat: confirous forest with meadows. This Roberfly was common on foot tracks in the forest, resting on stones. Hello, picture three shows a male Neoitamus, probably N. cyanurus. Do you have a much bigger detail of the genitalia of the male on picture two and maybe a little bit more lightened? Greetings, Danny Wolff |

Thanks for the input! I looked whether I have something as you requested, this is the best I could make of it. Since this must be a male (I hadn't notices that yet...) it must be a different species! Hello, nice picture. I think it is Neomochtherus melanopus (former Paritamus melanopus). Genitalia are quite well to see in this lateral view. The females above should also be N. melanopus. Greetings, Danny Wolff |
